Body
I believe that the body and the spirit make up the human soul. For me, photographing someone’s body is an incredibly intimate experience. Someone’s relationship with their body expresses a lot about themselves. Each individual I collaborated with has a distinct form. These images come from a simple figure study in which I broke down each individual’s body into segments. The idea was to simplify the form and see how each respective part could be viewed and interpreted on its own, separate from the whole. These images were taken on a Mamiya RZ 67 on FP-3000B film.
